Intelligence plays a key role in being truly “great”. Alexander The Great was exceptionally intelligent, and assembled his army to achieve greatness. As a kid, Alexander’s mother and father hired a teacher for Alexander. As stated in The background essay, ”philosopher Aristotle taught him academic subjects, politics, sports, and warfare.” Thus, Alexander became very smart at a young age and continued to gain knowledge throughout his childhood. Also, Alexander conveyed his intelligence throughout his years as a leader. ”Alexander returned to the Persian city of Susa, where he tried to unify his huge empire by taking Darius’s daughter as his second wife and ordering officers to marry Persian women.” (Background essay) In other words, When Alexander wanted something done, he found a way to make sure it happened. Alexander was nothing short of an astounding leader. He led his army from Macedonia to Asia, founding many towns and conquering many battles (Document A), and as shown in Document E, the chart shows how great of a leader Alexander was, and how impactful he was throughout his leadership position. It also shows how even hundreds of years after his death, people still took inspiration and honored him for the things he accomplished. To sum up, Alexander was such a spectacular leader, that we remember him today mostly for the fact of his impeccable leadership skills. In addition to this, at the age of 20, Alexander's father passed away and the kingdom was passed down to him.
