What are the traits a mentor is supposed to have and what is their purpose? Some characteristics that I feel a mentor should have and that my mentor does have are being supportive, positive, honest, compassionate, and goal-oriented. Along with these qualities, a mentor is someone who should provide advice, be an active listener, offer constructive criticism, and help a mentee set and achieve their goals. These are just a few of the reasons why I chose Alex as my mentor. I truly believe that she has helped me set my goals, has put me on the road to reaching them, and will encourage and assist me along the way.
