Alec Cannon Case Summary

Reason: Alec Cannon is interning at the Las Virgenes Unified School District as an Office Assistant Intern. Previously, Alec had worked for the maintenance department in this school, but this is the first year that he works in the administrative office. Alec had learned that this is an opportunity and is a big step up from the previous position. But the problem here is that Alec wishes to having pay for the efforts that he's putting into the job; even just pay with the minimum wage that's will make him feel happy and motivate him to do the better jobs. In chapter 7.1, Makarsky, an author that defines making decisions probably is the one element of a manager's job that can clearly determine success or failure. This shows that if Alec gives a wrong choice can lead to regrettable failures between either having pay or gaining more real experience, which one is more importance for his long career. Alec needs to clearly define the goals and making the better choices during the internship at the school district.

In Nhien’s case, he explains how he has to struggle to communicate with other coworkers because the dominant language at work is Thai, which he does not know how to speak. This problem also causes of miscommunication and make him doing duplicate orders that not effective for the company. During of barrier communication will make him feels very stressful while working there. I think to improve this problem he need to talk with his manager for every single important task that he will working on to make sure it is right before working. So that will help him not to waste time for doing duplicate
