The client answered the 20 questions and received a total score of 83. The 83 points are then divided by 20 which gives the client a total score of 4.15 out of 5 points. The closer the score is to 5, the more the individual believes that alcohol use can negatively affect a person’s life, including their health and their loved ones. The client is leaning towards the maximum total score, which means that she believes that alcohol use can be detrimental.

Understanding and Managing Stress:
The survey asks the client to give a score from 0-3 which states if they never or regularly relate to the questions that are asked. After the client completes the survey, the points are added up. If the client scores above 30,

Scenarios are given to the client in which they must reply whether they are confident or not confident that they are able to complete the task. The total points that the client received was a 73. The total score is then divided by 15 which gives the client a score of 4.87. The client is 0.13 points away from the maximum score of 5 which means that they are more likely to avoid using drugs.

In one week, the client is asked to record their intake of caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, pain relievers, and others (if applicable). The client recorded a 0 throughout the whole week in all categories.

The results of the survey, “Are you Susceptible to Stress,” indicate that the client mostly struggles with stress, but is otherwise healthy. She finds that school is the cause of all her stress as she is completing her last year of college and needs to take 20 units per quarter. Her doctor has told her that her lack of sleep and stress has caused her to develop anxiety. Sometimes, she is unable to fall asleep even when she is exhausted. Sleep can be a contributing factor to her stress. The client is susceptible to having “hurry” sickness which can also contribute to the high levels of stress that she experiences. To help combat her stress, the client has numerous coping mechanisms that she use to her benefit. She does not struggle with any addictions with alcohol, nicotine, or drugs. On occasion, she drinks minimal amounts and has taken stimulants, such as MDMA and Adderall, in the past (over six months ago) for recreational purposes. The usage of stimulants causes euphoric and pleasurable feelings which can lead to harmful consequences (NCBI). She is not influenced by peer pressure to take drugs as she is “very confident” that she can avoid the situations that are presented to her.
