Alcohol Informative Speech

First off what is alcohol? Is it a drug, medicine, or a beverage? Alcohol is known as a depressant. It messes with your ability to react with movement, your speech, and your ability to speak. In other words it’s a drug that affects a person’s mind to think rationally and distorts his/her judgements. Alcohol is a drug because it messes up with your thoughts and just like any other drug, it’s easy to get ahold of it. It’s not injected nor smoked, but consumed as a liquid. There’s different types of alcohol and comes with pros and cons to drinking this beverage. The pros about this beverage is that it’s easy to consume. Most people drink this for the stimulant effect. A single beer or just a glass of wine can loosen someone up but it also depends on many things about that person. One example is the percentage of alcohol the beverage contains. Another is how much a person can consume, because if a person drinks too much than what their body can handle they start to experience the alcohol’s depressant effect, which involves the person to feel “stupid” or loose control and …show more content…
The minor problems are waking up the next day with a hangover. A hangover is when you have a bad headache or other after effects that are caused by drinking a lot of alcohol. An alcohol overdose is caused when the person drinking consumes more than what their body can handle and that’s where it gets bad. Ways that people can tell if a person has had a drink too many is when that person can’t feel pain in the face, arm, leg, or any other part of the body after just being hit or smacked. Sometimes a person’s body will puke the poison due to drinking more than what your body can handle. Then there’s unconsciousness, or the most severe is coma and/or death from really severe toxicity.
