Alcohol In High Schools Research Paper

High School kids are going to drink whether you like it or not. Statistics say that up to eighty-one percent of high school kids consume alcohol at one point in their high school career, according to the U.S Department of Justice. Consumption of alcohol through minors with a parent's consent should be legalized in the United States. I believe learning how to drink responsibly should be taught at a young age, for example; college, you always hear about how much fun people have and about all the ragers friends and family attend or attended when they were in college. They go off the deep end right after they get out of high school, that’s because they always had to sneak around their parents to drink but at college you don’t have your parents looking after you. Teens for years have always found a way to rebel through drinking and partying. I feel like more teens would be a lot calmer and smarter if they were taught at a young age that drinking isn’t a big deal as long as you are responsible about your ways. Doing a survey over this topic at the Clifton-Clyde high school, only two people out of the ten I surveyed, thought underage drinking is a bad idea. Kids brains are still developing when they are young, but if we were to set a certain age-18- then I’m all for underage drinking (Railsback). I can agree with this but at the age of 18 you are beginning to learn the other responsibilities of growing up, so why not already know the limits on drinking? Everyone has to get responsible at one point in their life, you’ll notice the underage drinkers now tend to go all out and not know their limit that is where the law should come in and take
