Alcohol has been around longer than anyone can even remember. It has been linked with multiple unfortunate medical conditions and troubled relationships throughout history. It is also one of the main causes of many community mishaps. Alcohol consumption delivers many adverse consequences that affect the relationship, mental power and physical health of users. While alcohol may allow for a temporary relief from anxiety, depression, and overwhelming feelings and stressful situation, it is not a smart choice in the greater capacity of mental health. Alcohol consumption causes the user to lose the ability to exercise smart decisions. Even when a person is not under the influence of alcohol, it still weakens their ability to use common sense in some instance due to the long-term effect of alcohol consumption, therefore affecting their mental power and ability to act within due bounds. Drinking alcohol overhauls brain processes such as memories and acquiring distinct information (Viner). When the brain loses the ability to focus on positive astute of personal references, less personal bounds are put in place instead. Alcohol users tend to make unwise and impulsive decisions. When a drinker lean towards the use of alcohol only to gain a short-lived solution to their relationship issues, and other problems, a negative domino effect to that person and his or her partner becomes unavoidable. When alcohol is used for self-medication and to immobilized feelings, the user is prone to fall into deep depression, difficulty sleeping and becomes in denial of his or her problems (Klienschmidt). Once one of the partners reaches the point of in denial, it creates a crevice in a relationship. Solving a simple problem becomes an impossible task for both to comprehend. In some instance, when a user is under the influence of alcohol, a domestic violence is always a possibility to occur, which becomes a more austere problem. Partner relationship is not the only type or relationship that is affected by alcohol consumption and intoxication. Civic and social relationship can also be affected. When someone suffers from alcoholism, everyone around that person suffers. Others may not see the indirect relation result of alcohol misuse and incidents, but in reality everyone suffers in term of government financial funding.
