Psychology: A Case Study Of Owen's Psychological Profiles

Owen is a 12-year-old Caucasian male. He primarily lives with his father and visits his mother every weekend. He was observed to be healthy for her age. He was observed without marks or bruises, clean, and neat. He does not have a medical condition, does not take MEDs, and has been to the eye doctor to obtain his glasses.

Owen denies being touched on his private parts inappropriately. He was able to distinguish between the truth and a lie. He has never witnessed drugs or alcohol in the home. Owen has witnessed his father and stepmother arguing but no physical violence between both.

Owen is in 7th grade and attends Glenridge Middle School. He has good grades, A's and B’s. He is not currently enrolled in sports and his favorite subject is math. He likes biking, video games, likes swimming, and has lots of friends in school and in the neighborhood. Owen is mainly discipline when he gets in trouble by his stepmother (Cynthia). Owen indicated that Cynthia is physically abusive as he has been hit with a wooden spoon on the head and with a mop.

Owen is described by his father as smart, lazy, and does not like to do chores in the home. He indicated Owen likes to play video games and be on his electronics all day. Cynthia described Owen as a brilliant kid.
ANALYSIS
At this time overall, Owen seems to be a good and normal teenager.

She does not exhibit behaviors that are indicative of abuse and does not have any developmental/ medical/ physical or emotional disabilities that increase her vulnerability. She was observed to be free of marks and bruises. Gwendolyn seems to be friendly, outgoing, and engages well with others. She does not show serious emotional symptoms requiring intervention or lacks of behavioral control and did not exhibit self-destructive behavior that her caregiver is unwilling or unable to
