Alcatraz Summary
Alcatraz Was built on July 1, 1934, and ran for years then started to cost the U.S too much money and to repair. It was estimated to be 1-3 million dollars to fix. (Alcatraz facts)
Alcatraz was one of the toughest prisons in the world. Alcatraz was the high maximum security prison. The toughest punishment was to be in a room pitch black and a hole in the ground to go to the bathroom, no mattress but at night time, and one meal a day. (Alcatraz Facts) Alcatraz has gardens when the prison was up and run. Until it closed the gardens decade. Until 2003 when the Gardens of Alcatraz partnered with the National Park Service to restore and maintain the gardens for tourists.
