Alberto Juarez is a 50-year-old man who has come in today with a constant and “sharp” pain in the left leg near the calf. On Sunday, the patient came back from a vacation in Europe. On Monday, he went for a jog and tripped and fell and scraped his left lower leg. He cleansed the injury and put on Neosporin. That day, the discomfort in his calf started, in a part of the leg near the area of the injury. On a scale of 1 to 10, he describes the pain as a 5 and describes it as sharp and at times, pulsating.
