Alberto Juarez: A Case Study

Alberto Juarez is a 50-year-old man who has come in today with a constant and “sharp” pain in the left leg near the calf. On Sunday, the patient came back from a vacation in Europe. On Monday, he went for a jog and tripped and fell and scraped his left lower leg. He cleansed the injury and put on Neosporin. That day, the discomfort in his calf started, in a part of the leg near the area of the injury. On a scale of 1 to 10, he describes the pain as a 5 and describes it as sharp and at times, pulsating. The pain seems to be improving with Ibuprofen, ice, and elevation. The discomfort comes regularly when walking and it worsens when he puts pressure in the area. He stated that the discomfort is worsening and stated that the injury seems to be
