The boy’s younger sister, Grace, mysteriously disappeared and was noted as “missing” for six years until Detective William King proceeded to look for her. King’s goal was to trap the killer, even after six years, by proving a false newspaper ad in the Walter Winchell’s newspaper. Albert Fish sent Grace’s mother a letter with a mysterious message that was later translated into being a threat. The stationary and handwriting was traced back to Albert Fish by the New York condominium he was staying at. On the 13th of December in the year of 1934, Fish was confronted by authorities and eventually admitted to Grace’s murder as well as over fifty others. A psychiatrist saw him and his words to her were, “I have always had the desire to inflict pain on others and to have others inflict pain on me. Albert Fish was obviously emotionally unstable which is clear just by the simple fact that he like to inflict pain on himself. What makes him a psychopath is that he was violent and aggressive with children. Children are innocent and pure which makes it sickening that he could inflict the pain in which he did on them. As a child, Albert was treated horribly in the Saint John Orphanage; however, instead of recovering from it, he decided to make other children experience it too. Albert Fish is the definition of a true psychopath. In the 21st century, people hear Albert Fish’s name and do not recognize it. People hear the story of the boogeyman ad cringe.
