When people try and end a war early, innocent people get hurt. Albert Einstein thought he could do so with his position on Uranium. Although Einstein was very intelligent, I am not sure he took into consideration that innocent people could be hurt from these bombs. Albert Einstein seemed naive to the fact that there are people on the other side not trying to hurt us. Einstein’s point of view of uranium was patriotic, but it would be harmful to many people.
Einstein thought by bringing uranium bombs to war he would be ending it. He does not even seem to have any type of morals. For example, in the letter it states, “A single bomb of this type, carried by boat and exploded in a port, might very well destroy the whole port together with some of the surrounding territory.” , which shows he is destructive and uncaring of the citizens these bombs will harm. He addresses the president by telling him to trust someone with his confidence. In the letter, Einstein gives the president options on how to obtain the uranium. He even states, “to speed up experimental work, which is at present being carried on within the limits of the budgets of University laboratories..”, basically telling the president that this is more important than trying other things in labs and working on other solutions to end the war. Einstein says the president has confidence, but if he went through with Einstein’s idea, he would be nothing more than a
