The atomic bomb was developed utilizing Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. Einstein had fled Nazi Germany, when he came to the U.S. he contacted President Roosevelt and informed him that the German scientist were developing a new atomic weapon. With Einstein’s persuading President Roosevelt gave the order to start a secret new program called the Manhattan Project with was the development of the Atomic Bomb. The atomic bomb was tested in New Mexico in July 1945 and was a success. President Truman who succeeded President Roosevelt after he dies in office from a stroke, was the one that was burdened with the decision to use the new weapon or not.
