Albert Camus is considered the father of existentialism and this is due to his very unique writing style. The way he is able to manipulate and vividly describe the setting is revolutionary for this era. Also, he is able to portray a very impactful setting that affects the outcomes of conflict throughout the novel. For example whenever heat is present during conflict it seems to always have an impact on the stated conflict. To add during tense moments Camus tends to very vividly describe the sounds and this also impactfully affects the outcomes of conflicts in the novel.

The heat during the and prior to the scene where he shoots the arab are his main defense to why he committed the crime and during the courthouse scene he is too distracted by his surrounding to properly defend himself. These things show how in The Stranger the outcome of conflicts are affected by the setting. Looking forward knowing how the setting affects the conflict negatively perhaps the reader could look at how else setting affects the conflict in this novel. Also interesting to note we discussed the chance that meursault could have autism. It would be interesting to investigate how the setting and how he reacts to hot weather to further provide support for this claim. However the importance of setting in conflict is undeniably relevant and it is important when readers analyze this book to notice how the setting during conflicts affect Meursault. The stranger was a very impactful book for its time and it's important to look at why this is. Camus being one of the only existentialist writers at the time makes this novel stand out and really leaves the dialogue open for interpretation. In doing this Camus allows the reader to create their own story as different people can interpret completely different ideas from the same sentence and this is what makes his writing so special. Now on the subject of heat affecting outcomes of conflict there is a lot of evidence backing this up but for instance where the chance that Meursault has autism thats where Camus leaves open interpretation as arguments can be made against and this theory showing how Camus is the father of

Existentialism is a focus on the individual, a focus on their existence, free will, and death. An important note, however, is that there are many interpretations of existentialism, be it more optimistic or pessimistic. The books The Metamorphosis by Kafka, The Stranger, by Camus, and Hunger by Steve McQueen all have similar ideas, with imprisonment, death, and a life crisis being major components of each story. As a result, they all have similar existential themes.…

Albert Camus is an Algerian-born French author and philosopher. Camus is widely known to be the father of Absurdism, the rejection of a purpose in a meaningless world. One of his very first works, The Stanger, is centered on absurdity. The Stanger is a story about an Algerian clerk who commits murder, but, strangely enough, he is convicted because of his apathy towards his mother’s death. Using his beliefs and experience in poverty/life, Camus demonstrates that the world of The Stranger is absolutely irrational by using symbols and themes such as morality and the absurd.…

The Stranger, Albert Camus’ debut novel, illustrates and reflects the view of absurdity of life using the main character, Meursault, as a catalyst. On a surface level, absurdism is perceived through Meursault alone. However, on a deeper level through Meursault, other characters act as a source of absurdity as different situations are forced upon them. Camus achieves this level of complexity by creating and establishing Meursault as a very absent and undistinguished main character, who holds no strongly applied emotions or opinions. In doing this, the characters around Meursault who justify his actions are distinguished as being and reacting to him in an absurd way.…
