Hello, I haven’t been able to right the past few days because I have been busy. I want to tell you what has been happening. Every day I wake up and have a piece of Damper and a cup of tea, at lunch I have whatever I feel but usually something small. At dinner time I have a stew made from Veggies from the Chinese or some Damper and salted Mutton. My tent is a nice one (my opinion), I got some canvas and wood from the store and I made a wooden frame and stretched the canvas over it and secured it with some string, it was hard work! I have met a couple friends, come Chinese, some Irish and some from home! But my best friend is Albert Bates who is from Britain. The other day I found a small vein of gold and went

11:00 am I wake up to a perfectly clean room with a perfect breakfast: sausage, pancakes, bacon, and cinnamon rolls all sitting right next to my bed. I eat my breakfast and get ready for the day. I go downstairs to see my friends Austen, Zach, and Elias down there holding four tickets to the Super Bowl game tonight and a jet sitting outside in the field. I had slept in a little past what we had planned on leaving by but it didn’t matter too much we still had plenty of time to do what we wanted to.…

A Separate Peace Final Essay The portrayal of friendship in A Separate Peace by John Knowles remains significant and [a]relevant to present day. Persistently and tenaciously, the war controls the Devon school’s atmosphere, leaving students solemn and teachers austere. Desperate and afraid, students attempt to cope individually with the decision to enlist, while Finny and Gene manage together with the foundations of their strong comradeship. However, with just as much assertion, internal conflicts infiltrate both in and between Finny and Gene; but yet, they still ignore them, ultimately causing the problems to dissipate.…

This reading was particularly interesting because the author was explaining her family’s tradition of, ‘”don’t tell”. She spent a lot of time describing her family’s photos and as describe in Storycraft Chapter 6, she brought scenes to life. Her description of the picture was vividly detail that I felt like I was at the actual wedding experiencing what she described. One quote that stood out to me is, “Even at a wedding- a joyous moment of optimism, of promise, and faith in the future- Jews are commanded to remember the past, the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 AD.” (Sommers 336).…

Alfred Hitchcock 's 1960 film Psycho saw audiences introduced to a shy, isolated, but derrannged character - Norman Bates. The uncomfortable combination of both sympathy and disgust is slowly revealed through Bates ' history and the events that change him during the movie. Using sound, camera angles, and reorganisation of the generic conventions of horror films, Hitchcock constructed Bates ' character in a way that kept the audience in suspense as to whether he was truly a monster or just a young man suffering mental-instability. Norman Bates was originally written as a middle-aged, overweight, disconsolate man; a character screen audiences would recognise, but not embrace. Hitchcock "permenantly altered the face of the horror-film monster" (Freeland 2000, 161) not only by casting a skinny, fresh-faced Anthony Perkins whom audiences already knew as a young romantic lead, but by inviting audiences…

Every day for the last 6 months has been exactly the same, I start each day by walking across the road to the same old cafe. By now, I know all the cracks in the pavement and I could easily make it through my day with my eyes shut. I walk straight past the counter without having to order, then sit in my usual seat by the window alone and take out my laptop. The only thing I have ever known to change is whether I am gazing at the sun, the rain or even occasionally snow through the cafe’s dusty window that was definitely far overdue a clean.…
