Alani Lopez: A Short Story

Time is patience. For most it can take years, months, or days to find a special someone. In my case it was a few months that I knew who I would be spending most of my life with. It was just that spark of happiness that my girlfriend has gave to me. The way she came to be, results of the patience of love and being herself.
Did Alani Lopez cast a spell, or possess me in order for me to notice her? No, what she did do was smile, with tireless effort I needed from someone. What she did do required the same amount of effort that’s put into art, when the artist just lifts his hand and strokes the brush smoothly across the canvas and fills it with his meaningful strokes; and with great dedication over a long period of time the canvas is filled. She is more of girl who wants to do crazy things that we can get into trouble doing. A go getter, she was always taking me on crazy adventures. That’s what I loved most, being able to do something insane and not regretting it afterwards. She’s also someone who plans, who plans on where she wants to be in life; she’s also very hot tempered, I’ve seen her at her worst, I’ve heard her say cruel things and I have heard her yell and I have also seen what comes from that yelling. Even though she gets angry in malicious ways; she is the kindest, the loveliest, the sweetest soul I have ever met!
Alanis’ love for me has seemed to grow over these years’ now. I hope she realizes what eminent she has achieved by showing me her love and generosity. Finally, I realize that we were both a blank canvas, we both held a brush and we each filled our canvas with colors so bright, that overtime we were no longer a color of white, but a mixture of emotion and that in time our canvas will be filled.
Alani Lopez, is an excellent example of a hero that someone might me wanting and is very much needed. After all, it might not be in a few months it can be years or days, but if one can wait they will soon find their soul sharer; like I have found my girlfriend and she and I are a great example of

Tia Torres came from a broken beginning, she lived with her stepmother who she always called mom and didn't have a father figure. Even in those times she still had the heart and strength to take in stray animals, whether it was a horse or a goat.…

In Jane Kenyon’s poem, “Otherwise” the day is described is a mundane, yet amazing, experience. She explains the day from when she gets up in the morning until she is laid to rest in the evening. Although the day is described simplistically, the poet hones in on the fact that the day could have been far worse with the repetition of the word, “otherwise”. Kenyon uses multiple forms of symbolism and imagery in her poem to give the words vivacity.…

The poets, Gwen Harwood, Geoff Goodfellow and Judith Wright, all explore the idea of “individuals and those they love” using imagery and form. Through female perspectives, each poet presents how loving another person can cause a conflict of interests, between wanting a fulfilling relationship and the inevitable pain and suffering that accompanies it. Imagery is used to illustrate how daily hardships can overpower an individual’s ability to love people close to them, resulting in conflicted emotions. In both In the Park and Suburban Sonnet, Harwood explores how women can lead mundane and unfulfilling lifestyles following motherhood. In In the Park, the woman loses passion and self-identity, as evidenced by her “out of date” clothing and an almost…
