Alan, along with a group of other highly intelligent individuals, were attempting to decipher the German’s Enigma code messages. Since the setting on the Enigma machines changed everyday, even if you broke the code for one day, the next day it would be meaningless. So, he created the bombe, an electromagnetic device that searched through possible settings Enigma machine. Albert Einstein. Without his immense and new theories on matter and energy, the bomb may have never been built in the first place. Rhodes points out that although the concept of nuclear fusion and fission had been conceived prior to Einstein; it was his famous “E=mc2”, that paved the road for the number crunchers and engineers to put the entire process into motion. The one piece that makes this entire argument valid is the fact that Einstein himself was a Jew, who had escaped Germany…

It is true that the loss of life sorely exceeds the individual developments and inventions in technology; but as a whole, technology exceeded most expectations that occurred during the infancy of these advancements. Most of the technology created was meant to hurt one population or another, but it has impacted all of our lives in a positive way since. Possibly the worst time in the history of the world, we came through it with a better understanding and respect for all of humanity.…

The first computer that functioned similar to the modern computer we have today, was created around 1936 by a German man named Konrad Zuse. However, the Turing machine first proposed by Alan Turing became the foundation for our current computers we use today. Early computers were mostly used to solve complex mathematical problems such as assist encrypted code messages and binary math. These computers were enormous machines weighing several tons and essentially immovable. The modern computers we use today, had several overhauls in design and functionality; for example, with Xerox producing the first functional computer with a display and mouse, complete with windows, menus and icons in its operating system.…

According to Turing, the actual human should not be able to sense that they are interacting with a machine. If a human is unable to distinguish whether they are speaking to a machine or a human after a few minutes of conversation, then the machine has passed the Turing test, and is deemed an "intelligent" machine, capable of…
