The states attorney general provides legal representation for the state of Alabama, the officers, agencies and departments. Also the attorney general defends the state in all the state defendant lawsuits and court proceedings. Also the Alabama’s office of Attorney General Website states that “In addition to defending the state, the attorney general may initiate court activity, civil and criminal, to protect the state's interests and to enforce the laws of the state.” The Alabama’s secretary of state duties include classifying and processing documents for the state’s public records, such as crime reports, county and municipal budget records, and recordings of calls to a public agency. Alabama’s commissioners, state treasurer, judges, county prosecutors and state auditors also have major roles that keep the states executive branch in order. Alabama’s legislative branch oversees the executive branch’s operations. They create special committees to evaluate the performance and operations of the executive branch. Even though the executive branch executes the laws, policies and procedures the legislative branch has more dominance, because they can veto laws that the governor, chief commander of the executive branch has signed off on. Although the legislative branch has more supremacy than the other branches the legislative, executive and judicial branches are necessary to provide a balanced system to Alabama’s government and the way the state of Alabama is
