Al-Qaeda is a islamic terrorist group in Afghanistan in 1988, that was founded by, Osama Bin Laden along with Abdullah Azzam. Osama was the 7th of 50 children to Mohammed Bin Laden. At 14, Osama was a outstanding and shy student at Al Thagher. Because of this he was invited to join a small islamic study group with promise of extra credit. Osama was told that he would have to memorize, the entire Koran (and islamic bible) by the time he graduates from school. The group soon lost focus and Osama now has studied the beginnings of the principles of violent jihad. At the age of 18 he was promised to marry his first wife, his 14 year old cousin Najwa Ghanem. He graduated from Al Thager in 1976, the same year his first child was born , named Abdullah. On May 2nd, 2011 Barack Obama announced that Osama Bin Laden had died. A American Airlines Boeing 767 airplane loaded with 20,000 gallons of fuel crashed into the north World Trade Center tower in New York City. After 18 minutes of the first tower being hit, the second tower was also hit. As millions of people watched these events happen, another American Airlines flight 77 turned around and made it’s way to Washington D.C and crashed into the west side of the Pentagon military headquarters at 9:45 am. The fuel from the plane made the concrete building collapse. 125 military personnel and civilians, were killed in the Pentagon and along with the 64 that were aboard the plane. The passengers on the 4th plane fought off the hijackers suspectly with a fire extinguisher. The plane then hurled toward the ground at 500 mph and crashed into a field in at 10:10 a.m. in Pennsylvania. All 45 people on the plane were killed instantly by the impact. The target for this plane is not known but some theories say, that they were aiming for the White House, Capitol building, one of the many nuclear plants, or the Camp David presidential retreat. At the time of the towers collapsing, only 6 survivors were found, and almost 10,000 others were treated for injuries, many severe.
