Al Joad Comparison

Decent Essays
I think I am most similar to Al Joad. Of all the members of the Joad family, Al is the most prideful. Whenever Al does a job or works on something (particularly one that benefits the family) Al makes sure of two things. 1) The people know what was done know what was done / how it benefits them. 2) He waits for recognition from others or a rating. This is evidenced in Steinbeck's writing whenever Al does some as he'll write "Al blushed" or make Al say things like "It was nothing," even though he readers know that Al takes pride in his work. believe I'm similar to Al as I think I can be excessively prideful. On occasion, I get concerned on whether or not I receive recognition or credit for insignificant things such as: recognition for blurted
