Florida Police Arrested and Fired for Hitting Woman A 26-year old Florida police Officer, Akinyemi Borishade has been arrested and fired from his job for hitting a woman, Mayra Martinez. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, when the police officers got a call from bar to report an Employee who had just taken four shots of proof liquor, resigned from her job but refused to leave. The Officers arrived and asked Mayra Martinez to leave, which she refused and started hitting and biting the Officers. As a result of that, the policemen attempted to arrest her forcefully, and the officer, Akinyemi Borishade is seen in a video hitting her repeatedly even after she had been put to the ground. According to undersheriff Ivey, “there are other ways the case could have been handled, He could have turned her around and held her in a transporting position that they are trained in, back over to the location to wait by the door. He could have stood there with her. But there was no need to strike her,” Ivey said.. Officer Akinyemi Borishade had started the job at the police department in the month of March last year, so he was still within the probation period, because of that, he would not be able to appeal his firing, and also would not be given civil service protection. On social networks online, people commended the police department for releasing the video to the public immediately after the event, and also for taking immediate action by arresting and firing the police officer.
