Akebono Braking is currently an international company and has a strategic completed an approach to exploit its core competencies. On October 18, 2004, Akebono setup, a facility in Suzhou, China which will manufacture Akebono core disc brake pad. (Representative in cYoshihiro Ishigaki, 2004) On August 11, 2006, Akebono brought land in Thailand for the manufacture of the disc brake. Foundation brakes signify essential components relating to the control of brakes, except for operative parts, such as disc brakes, drum brakes, parking brakes. Corner Modules means products into which chassis parts such as foundation brakes, hub bearings, knuckles, etc. are to be pre-assembled. Target Production Plants Clarksville Plant (TN) and Columbia Plant (SC). Other production assets (to be transferred to the existing production plant of our North American subsidiary (Kashiwagi, 2009).
Foreign Subsidiary Strategies
Akebono has two types of resources and capabilities to attract the international market, first the alliance and joint venture strategies with Itochu Corporation joint to market brakes for industrial machinery and rolling stock applications. Both companies decided to form a joint business to expand sales of mechanical and rolling stock brakes, which Akebono manufactures, by utilizing the Itochu Groups sales network and marketing know-how, in particular for pioneering markets outside Japan. Upon rapid growth in 2012 and 2013, automobile manufacturing and sales in Thailand are currently slow, but the
