The aircraft flew much like a helicopter until the pilot intentionally transitioned to airplane mode. Then the propellers and engine tilted 90 degrees forward. The aircraft could accelerate a 1g longitudinal, accelerating it faster than a Citation jet, transitioning to airplane mode in 11 seconds. At that point, the engine and rotor speeds were reduced, making it exceedingly quiet. It could approach a landing zone at 25’ off the ground and 200 knots without being heard decelerate and transition to helicopter mode quickly for the confined area landing and a rock stable hover.
