The Unexpected Moment

What type of accommodation do you prefer while travelling? Do you like to stay in a hotel or resort, or do you prefer to stay in a hostel? Travellers search the accommodation through the Internet and the companies like Airbnb create a new way to let people all over the word share their experience together.

Gebbia explains how he started his business on creating Airbnb in Ted Talk. At the beginning of his speech, he shares his first hosting experience with a stranger that drove a red Mazda. Then he found a way to make new friends also make the rent at the same time. He proved the idea of building trust between people we never met is not as hard as we think if we have a strong reputation that supports the idea, such as reviews from guests and hosts. We can easily break human’s “stranger-danger bias”. He turned this whole new experience into a new connection between people. He claims that Airbnb is what sharing economic aiming for also the promise of human connection.

The best things in life are the memories that we made with people that we love in the places we’ve been. If you willing to take a risk and willing to take a challenge you should try Airbnb, it is like open a box of chocolate, you don’t know which kind of favor you will get, but I promise you won’t get that disappoint on what you get. Airbnb has it own advantages and disadvantages but is depend on what you think and your budget. Everyone have their own choices, someone love to try new thing but someone just want to stay in their comfort zone.
