The experience that has impacted my life and the way I think about situations the most is the experience of owning my own business. My brothers and I started a cattle company in 2011 selling show cattle as an alternative way to finance our college endeavours. We took a risk taking out over 45 thousand dollars in loans when I was just twelve years old through the department of agriculture. We started with 34 cows and we now own 136 cows to date. This experience is extremely relevant to my application to a consulting firm as I was my own consultant for my business. We did not seek guidance or professional help, we did it on our own and had the confidence in ourselves to succeed. I have profited from owning that business very much not only in paying for all three of our college expenses, but also from an intellectual sense. Fundamentally, I already had extensive prior knowledge of arguments and the need to present the best reasoning possible to convince another person that my idea or statement is correct. Having had to deal with legal issues, running my own real estate rental business, as well as being a lower level manager in a parts distribution warehouse, has given me plenty of opportunity to practice arguments, and persuasion. I wish I had attended college before these situations occurred. My biggest weakness is my communication skills. Verbally, written, and body language communication skills were very insufficient.…

The book has an interesting approach at defining what identity is. I really appreciated how the book opened my eyes to how identity can be seen. For example we dont just have an identity, because we actually do one. As the book put its “its not just having a symbolic sense of it, but doing it in the presence of people and doing it well in there eyes”. Although, their is still much more to defining what identity is I will do my best to define exactly what is.…

The glistening sun beamed through the side window’s paper blinds at exactly 5:15 in the morning. The sheets were draped over my bed side because of my restless sleeping and I was missing my left sock. My mouth tasted of the Whopper I devoured the night before and my lips smacking together brought back the overpowering combination of mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup back onto my taste buds. The wooden mirror propped up on the wall across from my bed showed a crusty middle aged man with exceedingly uncomfortable facial hair and a stained tank top.…

The summer of 2015 I learned to ease my fear, because there is no way I could conquer it in one week.…

Especially for guests who stay more than one or two nights, an equipped kitchen and living area is very much appreciated. Guests can save money by cooking their own meal once in a while; also, there is the possibility to spend time together with friends or family in a living room instead of a small hotel room. Furthermore, Randall T. Cook said, “I think the younger generation does not want four people to pick their bags up at the curb and then they have to tip this person and that person. They would rather be in a cool neighbourhood with bigger rooms, bigger space, maybe with a kitchen that makes them feel like, hey, this is what it feels like to live in San Francisco or Chicago” (Glusac). In conclusion, the fact that guests can experience the city from a different angle and have the opportunity to have a fully equipped house or apartment is the third reason why Airbnb is a threat to the hotel industry.…
