“Go green”, “Think green”, or “Save the world” are some of slogans that people know. Several years ago, the world faced many environmental issues. One of them is the problem of air pollution. This aspect is a very dangerous problem in our world today. Some people think that air pollution is not harming the earth or the people. This is why it has become a very dangerous problem in Chiang Mai today. According to CityNews, Particulate matter (a type of air pollution) levels in Chiang Mai are close to dangerous levels. From the past to the present, air pollution of Chiang Mai that increase the volume and the increasing violence. There are two types of air pollution sources which are man-made sources and natural sources. Some man-made sources in Chiang Mai are industries, agriculture, exhaust from vehicles, deforestation, etc. Some natural sources of the air pollution in Chiang Mai are like storms and forest fires. So you can see that Chiang Mai’s smoky season can cause damage to the environment, quality of life, health problem, tourism and traffic. According to Acharee Tiptanatoranin of the Journal of the political administration, haze and forest fires have an impact on both tourism and business services, where relevant. Due to the smog problem, some airlines have canceled some flights for passenger safety. It also affects the traffic on the highway between provinces. The first way that people can do is to provide education to tribal people. Forasmuch the main causes of air pollution in Chiang Mai caused are burning household waste, burning to clear agricultural lands and burning of forests to find food to sell and consume. According to the news, Forest fire in Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, state, Narong Tananuwat, former president of the Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce, said that is was most likely due to illegal burning by locals looking for wild produce such as mushroom. We should solve them on the spot when the cause of their ignorance. Therefore should provide staff or guest speakers to educate and make them aware of the causes, consequences and a solution to air pollution. The second way that people can do is to get and campaign so all are aware of the effects of air pollution and raise awareness to people of all ages. One of the obvious causes is using vehicle. So, the campaign is a solution that is easily accessible to the public as possible. Campaign to reduce travel by motorcycle, car or bus. Encourage people to walk or using bicycle instead of using vehicles that cause
