Air Force Personal Statement

When I look back at my career in the United States Air Force, I want to not only be proud of myself personally and professionally, but also as a leader and the influence I had on others. I want to know that I touched people’s lives and I made a difference in them. I want one person to feel or say Technical Sergeant Wheeler was one of the best leaders I have met and I will always remember how she impacted my life. However, I know in order to reach this aspiration I will need a plan to improve myself as a follower and a leader in order to improve my leadership effectiveness. I want to be able to better myself and my Airmen around me by holding myself and them accountable; knowing that I will always be there to correct myself and them for the better. I want to be able to inspire others to look towards my visions and not just to do better for me as their leader, but for themselves as well. I want to be admired, devoted, dependable, and respected. I want not only my subordinates and peers to know and feel that I genuinely care about each of them individually but also my supervisors as well. I want them to know that I value their point of views and know that I can learn something new from each of them. With my communication skills reaching that expert expectation, I will be able communicate with my teams optimistically to give them a sense of purpose and drive. Finally, I want my subordinates, peers, and supervisors to be influenced by me. I want to have a robust work ethic, high set of morals, while also representing my organizations to the highest degree. I want to be known for being able to set my interest aside for the betterment of the team and being a desirable leader to the mission of the United States Air
