Ain’t I a woman was a reason why america went through the civil war because this poem is all about the equality of the american people. The story ‘Aint I a woman’ is all about the idea that everybody is created equally and everyone should be treated the same way and that way shouldn’t be bad. Evidence that proves this case is, “That man over there says that women need to be helped into carriages, and lifter over ditches, and to have the best place everywhere. Nobody ever helps me into carriages, or over mud puddles.” This proves the key point above because, this woman is getting treated way different because of the color of her skin.
