Aida Monologue

Great Essays
After intermission, I still didn’t go on, so I hung out backstage with the rest of my cast, minus Radames, Aida, and Amneris because they were on stage singing a song together in three-part harmony. Before the song ended, I waited backstage for Aida. When she got there, we walked in, me walking in front looking all around and being stealthy and Aida walking in after me like a normal person. I turned to the jailer guarding Amonsaro, our queen, and said “A word with the prisoner.” “Alright Mereb, but be quick about it” He responded, taking the gold in my hand and leaving. “Mother!” Aida exclaimed. “Aida! I knew you would survive, that I had trained my daughter well. At least I would not allow myself to believe otherwise.” Said Amonsaro. “Have …show more content…
“We are looking…” A guard started to say, walking on stage and frightening us, making us run opposite sides of the stage “for the slave girl called Aida.” He finished after a short pause. “Where is she?” He slowly walked over to a young girl protected by a few Slaves. He grabbed her, pushing her down and holding a sword to her. “Where is she?” He said again, louder than before. Just then, Aida tried to step forward and face her punishment, but I grabbed her, covered her mouth, and nodded to Nahebka. Nahebka stepped forward before the guard could do anything, saying “I am the one you want. I am…” Before she could finish the guard slit her throat and casually walked away without any thought. “No!” Aida exclaimed. I released her and she fell to the floor. “I’m sorry princess, but you could not be sacrificed. Any one of us would give our lives to save Nubia.” “No!” She said again, this time a little softer. The aforementioned small girl crawled over to Nahebka, tried to shake her as if waking her up, and when that didn’t work, she hummed the tune of The Gods Love Nubia. Then, everyone else joined in, lifting her up and taking her off …show more content…
Amonsaro, Aida, and I ran in. “Princess, we must hurry. They’ve sounded the alarm.” I said. Radames walked in. “Radames…I’m sorry mother I must have one more moment with him.” Aida said to her mother. “Daughter!” She yelled back. “Of course, you’re the Nubian princess and you had me marry Amneris so you could escape with your queen.” Radames said baffled and hurt. “No, but I’ve made too many mistakes and too many people have suffered.” Aida responded trying to explain. “So it was all a lie every word every kiss.” Radames tried to back away. “No, not when I said I loved you. Say you’ll believe me.” “She’s alive!” Zohser stepped in. “Stop there!” I said in return, blocking the way to the ship. “Out of my way slave.” Zohser said cutting me down. “Mereb!” Aida exclaimed. “Radames, she’s” Aida said at my side. Radames knelt down beside me, holding my other hand, as Aida was holding the first. “Forgive me princess, I failed you” I weakly whispered. “No! You, Mereb, inspired me.” Aida said. “Aida I wanted to go back to Nubia…take me home.” And with that I was dead. Aida closed my eyes and I got dragged off stage, after running into two people and a railing. When I got backstage I leaped to my feet thinking in my head “I’m alive! I am so

Hi Rudin, Thanks for letting me know of your upcoming run-through. No I'm not sick and tired at all, I am excited for you (tired maybe lol). If I would live closer I wouldn't have to think about it at all, even with the Rose Bowl on at the same time. I am not surprised the maestro would not like to have anybody at the rehearsal, I was actually thinking of asking for myself, but I dismissed the thought for that reason, remember in London they didn't like it either. Thanks for willing to Skype, but under the circumstances, I will go to the Rose Bowl.…

After putting on our bright pink leotards and ballet shoes, which trust me we're not the most fashionable, we went out to the car to wait on Dianna’s mom. I should mention it was still raining as if the earth would flood outside, this made it slightly hard to hear but we ran out to the car anyway. Me, Dianna, and Dalton bolted through the door, sprinting to the car that Dianna had unlocked with the small remote. The cold rain made the humid, hot day not feel as bad as the rest of that summer had been, which was dry and hot. When we got into the car we sat for a bit but then Dianna decided she wanted to turn on the music so she jumps to the front seat of the car.…
