In 1983, Ahmet Ertegun began working with a team that he assembled himself along with Rolling Stone magazine editor and publisher Jann S. Wenner. Ertegun’s mission was to create a place for Rock and Roll to call home. After looking at several different cities in America, Ertegun decided to build his creation in Cleveland, Ohio. With his team, he created a layout for the building and gave it a unique shape and style. The building rises above the shores of Lake Erie. It is a combination of bold geometric forms and dynamic cantilevered spaces that are anchored by a 162-foot tower. The tower supports a dual-triangular-shaped glass "tent" that extends onto a 65,000-square-foot plaza. The building overall contains more than 55,000 square feet of
