Agreed Revisions The first revision we agreed with was the wording of our title. The wording would have been confusing and not at a fifth grade level. The second revision we agreed with was some wording in a few of the questions. For example, one of the questions said, “I feel the school administration doesn’t know bullying exists.” The suggestion was to use “isn’t aware that bullying exists.” We thought this was wording that was more understandable for students. There were also a few “not” reversal questions that the revisors suggested different wording for the statements, and we also accepted that feedback and changed it in our survey. Also, the revisors suggested we use “my school” in the survey statements, instead of “this

We agreed with this statement, some of the demographics participants may feel uncomfortable answering because they are unsure of how the data will be used. As researchers, we thought it was a worthy suggestion and decided to add that check box to our survey. Also in the demographic portion of the questionnaire, we were advised that we could add nonbinary for the gender selection, heterosexual and homosexual for the sexual orientation section, African American for the race section, and a write-in for religious affiliation section. We agreed with these helpful suggestions, and we were happy someone looked over the questionnaire to make sure it was mutually exclusive. For us as researchers, we agreed with the reminder that we needed to put the reversal statement numbers at the bottom of each page. We had only bolded them to remember them for the first draft. Also, a suggestion was made that we use an indentation below the question for aesthetic purposes. We noted the suggestion as worthy because the questionnaire did look a little bit confusing and hard to follow without the

Mary Gray’s Out in the Country provides a concise history of queer scholarship that has led to the privileging of urban spaces and urban perspectives. She then challenges this metronormative notion by exploring the lives and identity formation of young queer people in rural Kentucky. Gray’s book differs from the articles first and foremost in that she focuses on youth rather than adults; the median age of her interviewees was just sixteen and a half years old. In focusing on youth, she observes active identity formation as opposed to collecting stories of formation that has already occurred as the other researchers do. This work is a critical part of the existing scholarship on the queer urban-rural binary; it is referenced in all of the other…

The categories within the demographics are missing because there is only a demographic question to be found in Breeanne’s survey. The survey goes straight to how student dorms should be and does not seem to discuss on other major demographic information, except for the age group of the students. These demographics would have been more beneficial if they are included in the survey, helping the respondents to determine the ideal target market and have a better understanding of the selected sample itself. Such important demographics to learn about would be the respondents’ race and ethnicity, gender identity, highest level of education, household income, employment status, location and class standing. Although the age is briefly touched upon in…

Bisexuals face discrimination from both the heterosexual and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities. This discrimination may impact bisexuals' decisions regarding the sex of the person they choose to date. Despite being attracted to both sexes, 84% of bisexuals engage in opposite sex relationships (Pew Research Center, 2013). The mechanisms underlying these dating decisions are unclear. The present research focuses on exploring three possibilities as to why this disparity exists: (1) natural reproduction, (2) conformity to social norms, and (3) the available dating pool.…
