Growing older has always been something I thought I would be so ready for when the time was to come around. I thought being an adult would hold some form of power and that I would be able to do any and everything that I wanted without having to answer to anybody. But, with aging it does come great responsibility and not as joyous and great as movies and T.V shows paint it out to be. I’m pretty sure that the older I get there will be very happy moments and really down moments. I tend to always think about my future every second of every day. Will I be settled and happy? What will be my definite career? How many kids will I have? The list can go on and on. I really wish to be a very optimistic and generous person as I get older. As time does pass more researchers are starting to note that optimism and has been linked to being very healthy and living longer (Boelan, 2015). I want to have a very positive outlook on life as I get older and I don’t wish to have the negative things that I know will happen along the way cloud my better judgement. There was also a study that involved 50-85-year old’s that stated if their spouse was just as optimistic as they were then they were prone have better health as well as physical functions (Kim, Chopik, & Smith, 2014). I don’t want to do too much since I know I will have other people that I can trust looking over my funds and handling how I spend my day to day money. My children will be well off in the world with very honorable careers so I may be babysitting my great- grandchildren by then. I will also probably sit back and reflect on all that life has brought upon me in my seventy plus years on this earth. They will be very well taken care of just as my children and grandchildren had been very well taken care
