Despite the passing and implementation of specific laws in the United States, there are organizations and individuals who fail to ensure compliance. One such law was officially approved in 1967; the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA). This law prohibits age discrimination by explicitly directing employers, labor organizations, and employment agencies to promote employment of older persons based on their ability rather than age (The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, 2015). Additionally, printed material from organizations or individuals, practices in investigations, and practices in procedures or litigation will also be required to adhere to the ADEA requirements.
