Age Discrimination Act of 1967: The Age Discrimination in Employment Act was passed in the year 1967. The major provisions of the act are to protect individuals who are above the age of 40 years from employment discrimination on the basis of age. The major provisions of the act apply to all individuals and job applicants who are above the age of 40 years. According to the ADEA, employers who discriminate on the basis of age can be punished with severity of licensures. The ADEA considers it an unlawful practice to discriminate on the basis of age. The act covers all employment agencies, labor organizations, federal government, private organizations and all those organizations which employ people. Those organizations which have 20 or more employees
