Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller was born on September 15, 1890 in Torquay, England to Frederick Alvah Miller and Clarissa Margaret Boehmer Miller. Agatha was also known as Agatha Mary Clarissa Mallowan. Where Agatha grew up influenced her and had a huge impact on her life (Breznau).
She spent most of her time alone, while she was alone she loved to invent characters and adventure for them. Agatha was educated at home by her parents and her nurse. She taught herself to read during the age five; after she learned to read she was allowed to read any book she could get her hands on. Her father Fred taught her arithmetic. She hated spelling but, she learned by sight word not by the sounds of the letters. Agatha learned history from novels and books (Breznau).
At the age of seven Agatha was sent to France with a frenchwomen to learn french. Agatha was very talented as a young girl she played the piano and dance classes. As Agatha grew older in her teens she was sent to a boarding school. She had a passion to use her imagination freely. She would construct plots and tells stories of dolls and animals. Her first attempted was The House of Beauty, January 1926. As Agatha grew older she knew what she wanted to do, write books. Agatha married Colonel Archibald Christie during wartime. They had a daughter together named Rosamund. She first started writing her novels on a bet from her sister, she only did them in spare time while her husband was away for war. When her mother died she couldn’t handle her husband being away for long periods of time, Agatha divorced her husband. After the divorce her success in writing took off. In 1930, Agatha married Sir Max Mallowan. After the rough marriage with Christie, Agatha’s marriage with Mallowan was eventful. She got to travel the world with him and it was such a peaceful marriage
