Agape Class Interview Report

On my third week to work for Agape Class as an intern minister, there was a special worship service. Agape Class is one of department of education ministry like youth or toddler’s department. Only thing that is different from other departments is that all members of Agape Class are mostly diagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Cerebral Palsy except teachers and volunteers. Members’ age is varies from 11 year old to 45 year old. My church has no integrated worship service for both people with and without disability. Thus, people with disability gather and worship God separately from others at Agape Class, in which is located at the other building.
In Agape Class, there is a special teacher who is in his 30s. He is in wheelchair like some of students in Agape Class. This physically disabled teacher J, who helps and teaches people with disability, is the most popular in Agape Class. I asked him to complete his faith interview chart before the actual interview, so I came to know his painful experiences that he could not share in his testimony in front of many teachers and friends with disability at church. He confessed that the accident was God’s way of making him go to church because He knew that J had a too hard-head to be convinced God’s infinite love. He was furious at God for doing that to him, and he spent his time cursing God and cursing Christian who used his injury as a parable to try to convert him. However, he saw that it was God who held his hand in those dark days and started understand God’s purpose for him.
