Against Dog Park

Decent Essays
I am a dog person myself and a dog park would'nt be such a bad idea in my opinion. Im sure the city can benefit from it financially and it would also bring the community closer together. But i could also see the side of the residents that dont want a dog park. Wether it's the barking, the taxes or the lawsuits. On the side that does not want a dog park, I understand that having one can bring stress to cat owners and also families that have new born babies that might woken up from all the dog barking. What I would be against is having hard working americans having to fund this park through their taxes. I sure would'nt want to fund something that i have no interest in, that i know for a fact I would not be visiting this place in my spare …show more content…
I know some people would not agree but im sure once they see how nice and fun people are having they'll be happy with it. I get it, there can and probably will times when dogs migh hurt each other or potentially a person but that's everywhere. We can only do our best to avoid those certain situations. As for taxpayers having to fund it well I'm sure that we can vote on it as we do with other programs etc. It can also bring a lot of revenue to the city, its a free market , a lot of new merchants . Im sure it'll take sometime but as do all good things do. Now i know the noise level can be an issue but we do live in the city, people walking all the time, a lot of cars that cause traffic and the honking that comes with it for those that dont have patience. I'm sure majority who live in the city don't, but that topic can be for another time. I'm sure with all the noise around the city it can surpress a dogs bark of 75 decibels to a 30 decibels at the minimum. In conclusion, I feel very strongly of having a dog park in the city. I'm sure once the plans are laid out and we start to see it come to frutition it will be wonderful. Dogs running around, owners feeling relaxed, having converstions with strangers. At end of the day im sure all the residents including the other group of people will be happy with

Free parking? It sounds like an idea too good to be true, and that’s because quite possibly, it is. At least that’s what Donald Shoup argues in “Yes, Parking Reform is Possible”. A public policy which allows an extensive amount of parking in a crowded city at little to no cost, regardless of budgets or consequences, will have serious negative effects to a community. Shoup predicts that we can achieve major social, economic, and environmental advantages at virtually no expense merely by subsidizing people and places, rather than parking.…

I think it would be a good thing to actually have a dog park. But on that same note it wouldnt be because some dogs cant get along. Dogs should be able to have somewhere that they can run around and exercise. In the artical "A Dog Park Benefits All," its says "Because it's againts city ordinance for dogs to be off-leash in public areas, Gizmo can't run and play very much at all." Some dogs needs alot room to run and play and exercise.…

In the argument about dog parks for residents with pet dogs, I totally agree that they should be provided with a park for their animals. I agree because, i dont think a simple walk around the neighborhood is not to much exercise on a daily. Exercise is important to dogs' mental and physical health. Also another reason would be because according to (ASPCA) "dogs that dont get exercise can act out at home by barking or destroying things at home. Socializing is important too.…

I wanted to tell you about something I learned about in class this year. It was where cities were turning empty rundown lots and United Spaces in cities into green spaces, small parks and small gardens. I think this idea is marvelous. It takes an abandon lot in a small park or a community gardens. Everyone in that community would benefit from this idea.…

The noise generated in a dog park - both from the owners and their dogs (the bark of a dog can reach 75-100 decibels) can make people stressed and/or unable to sleep. Even in a rural area, the barking of distant dogs can be disrupting, a fact I could back up. A free-romaing dog in a park might attack a person or another dog, and dogs - especially large ones - are powerful and are capable of injuring others. A dog park would also be expensive; the park fencing alone would cost $70,000, and the dog park would take up an acre of land that could be used for housing developments, where dog owners could let their dogs excerise and socialize on the sidewalks.…

Forcing the taxpayers to fund a dog park is not fair. Getting that many dogs together will cause noise complaints and make the other residents unhappy. Dogs could also attack each for no reason and owners could get bit. This would cause so many problems for both city and residents. People for the dog park state that…

The redevelopment of Regent Park deems counterproductive because it leads to the displacement of community members rather than creating an inclusive environment. Inevitably, this change is meant to represent a positive redevelopment of a declining space.…

Pet friendly campuses are not completely nonexistent. There are a few colleges that have adopted the pet friendly program and have great success. Stephens College in Columbia Missouri has a designated dorm that allows students to bring cats and dogs, with the exception of aggressive dog breeds. They also have an animal fostering program which allows students to take part in the local community through volunteering. Many organizations here at Stevens Point are involved with the humane society already.…
