One man even recalled leaving his body entirely and watching his resuscitation from the corner of the room (Website Title: The Telegraph, Date Accessed: April 12th,2017, Author: Sarah Knapton). There are multiple universities and hospitals that have done their own studies on this and they all say at least some percent of their patients say they had awareness afterward and somewhat knew what was going on around them like they could distinctly remember things being said even though they had been pronounced clinically dead.
Most scientists would probably say that the concept of an afterlife is either nonsense, or at the very least unprovable. Yet one expert claims he has evidence to confirm an existence beyond the grave - and it lies in quantum physics. Lanza, from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in North Carolina, continued that as humans we believe in death because 'we've been taught we die', or more specifically, our consciousness associates life with bodies and we know that bodies die. Lanza, instead, said that when we die our life becomes a 'perennial flower that returns to bloom in the multiverse. (Website Title: Daily mail, Publisher: Associated news Woollaston). Tons of science is trying to prove it, they say science is getting closer to proving god and jesus and an afterlife rather than getting farther from it.

Barney Glaser and Anselm Strauss came up with four different awareness contexts. One awareness context is called closed awareness. Closed awareness is when the people around the patient know that he or she is dying but the patient is unable to recognize the signs that they are dying. In this awareness the person has to make sure that the patient does not know about their condition. This awareness is usually pretty tough for the staff because they have to pretty much keep a secret from their patient.…

When I was sixteen years old, I made the biggest and dare I say, the greatest decision in my life, which was: receiving my Lord Jesus Christ. Because of my faith, I believe that once you die, you either go to heaven or you go to hell. Death has always been seen as the essence of misery, darkness, and evil. When people are exposed to the concept of dying, they are frightened, because death leads to lands that are unknown to man. Even though people do not understand it, the unknown world of the afterlife is assumed to be cold and lonely, an inescapable void. People, when they think of death, are reminded of how they lost their loved ones to it, how they have mourned those they will never be able to see again. However, while this is the widespread view of the afterlife, there are people who see death as a new beginning.…

For many people, death is one of the scariest things they will have to face. Why? Because they do not know what will happen after they die; will they go to Heaven, or will they be reincarnated? No one is, or can be, certain of what happens and arguably, this could be the main basis of religion. The question of what happens after death is a common theme expressed through many works of literature, such as Obasan by Joy Kogawa, Hamlet by William Shakespeare, “The Open Boat” by Stephen Crane, and the poem “At the River Clarion” by Mary Oliver.…

That as Descartes suggests there is a non-material existence of my mind referred to as dualism that is incorporated within my soul which enables me to be conscious perhaps to see when I no longer have a pair of eyes (Ibid). However, a scientific naturalist would propose that “our personal experiences and emotions are intimately linked to our body chemistry” (Peterson, et al., Philosophy of Religion, p.509). Suggesting it is our physicality, our brain that allows us to have a conscious and experience our emotions. Once physical death occurs and the brain dies then so do…

Death is a small, seemingly innocuous five-letter word. It is a topic that many do not like to discuss until it is absolutely necessary, while others may sit and ponder it in order to make sense of their life and purpose. Many ask themselves things such as “what will happen to me after I die?” One may think that humans are scared of dying or even say that they personally are scared of death. The uncertainty of an afterlife, or the concern over what will happen to those one leaves behind are valid concerns.…

Death and the afterlife has long been a debate in history and philosophy. In his book “What does it all mean?”, Nagel focused a chapter on discussing whether the afterlife might or might not exist. Famous philosopher Socrates also explained his belief in the afterlife in Plato’s “Phaedo”. While sharing some of the ideas, the two thinkers have different arguments and stances on the issue. This paper aims to compare the two philosopher’s argument, and provide an argument towards the question of whether the afterlife exists.…

However, with advancements in biomedical technology, the human body can be kept alive almost indefinitely, making death more and more difficult to define. Death to a cardiologist means that one’s heart has stopped beating and cannot be revived. To a neurologist, it might mean the end of the functioning of a brain stem. A cell biologist will only pronounce a person dead if all of the cells have died. The question that arises from these opposing views is one of determining the cessation of life, the cessation of a living organism.…
