A large variety of different themes take place in the book “After Tupac and D Foster” by Jacqueline Woodson, a 2008 published literature fiction novel that experience the point of view from the lives of 3 pre-teen females from Brooklyn, and their obsession over rapping sensation, Tupac. Overall, the book has a very fast tempo. The Novel allows the readers to focus well and become easily engaged by the plot. My observation on the text is a positive assessment, due to the easy readability, fast pace, and plot that is relevant to the realities of the intended audience. I personally believe that the Author does a good job of executing this, as being the reader myself, I was able to relate to experience growing up at that age, aswell. There are many Themes that stand out in this book, some very general, but some are a main factor of the story. People’s judgment was always started at the thought of their FAMILIES, making Family a massive theme in the story. Not only does it show literal family, but the friendship between the three girls also shows the companionship you see in a family. Once D Foster was introduced to Neeka, many questions had been revolving around who D Foster was, and thoughts and accusations of her not being a good role model. This leagues to the arguments of the story, the fight against false judgement. For an area with high crime rates and a low financial value, you would not expect anything better from those that live there. Jayjones, and the girls, aspire to go to College or University for a high level Education, in which Jayjones achieves
