In my community parents are often complaining about their kid going down the wrong path. , leads the parent to be without hope in seeing their child graduating from high school. For instance, many people who say they were in an after school programs like the boys and girls club has succeeded. One person who has Julio who is a Dominican that came to America to chase his dreams. When he came to America he wasn’t fluent at English. He also had a lost of his older brother due to an accident, and his mother from breast cancer. When he moved to America with his relatives he started to join the boys and girls club. Instance he became very social with many of the teens. But even though he wasn’t fluent English he became a leader. He became the head leader of the teaching club and eventually finished community college before he started his degree In Computer Science. In my community, there are many kids who are just like Julio and has so much potential to become a great leader and successfully. Without after-school programs, the crime rate will continually increase, deaths, and dropped out rates. Every child can struggle with something from math, English, history, etc. But with the right people, they can learn and master their struggle. Well firstly i am going to speak with many local officials, parents, and child care local resources. I will also see if I can be guided to talk to a person who works in the department of child care and see if they can give any contact information on agencies to find out what I may need for the program. Secondly I will make sure the local community know my vision for the program like what is the purpose and reasoning behind it. For me to do that I will have a community town hall meeting. Thirdly I will find funding to get my program off the ground. I will need to find inform about federal, state, or local funding. If I cant I will have to look into private funding or do a fundraiser. Next I will need to get the state requirements in order to get my licensing to monitor the kids. I will need to contact my local state licensing agency to see if I qualify for the requirements. Then I will need to make sure all the kids and mentors are familiar with the schedules and activates. I will lastly get a budget of everything I need and the cost of everything from transportation, staffing, location, and hours of service being
