BRIEF SYNOPSIS:
ASANTE (20), an African Congolese, runs from ALI BEN SAID (50), the Afro Arab Sultan of Kilwa, a Shirazi, and his son SEFU (30). Their warriors pursue him. Eventually, Asante is captured. A punishment collar is placed on his neck, as he becomes their slave. Ali and Sefu are in the trade business. They trade ivory tusks. Ali falls sick.
When other slaves trip and fall into a chasm, Asante volunteers to retrieve the fallen tusks. Ali is impressed with Asante. For some reason, Ali decides to trust Asante when he claims he has a better trail passage for them to travel by.

Asante makes a deal with Denis to help him gather rubber. Jabari spies on Asante and reports his whereabouts back to Sefu. Both Sefu and Denis seek out Asante, but Denis attempts to have Sefu arrested. A war breaks out.
As they flee, they run into NZINGA, who joins Asante and Diba is their quest for freedom. Diba gives Asante some poison to help if needed.
They battle Denis. Asante is stabbed in the stomach, but he’s still able to kill Denis. He finds Diba, who is badly wounded. She tells him to follow his goal and clear their land. She then dies.
Asante vows not to give up. He burns the tusks and then he goes after Sefu. Sefu escapes to his ship, but Asante sneaks on and uses the poison Diba gave him to poison their food. He swims back to shore.
Asante celebrates his victory, but it’s short lived when MARCEL THYS (30), a Belgian lieutenant from the Force Public arrives. He has orders to arrest Asante for treason and murder. There is no trial. The punishment is death.
They lead Asante away as he faces a firing squad. There’s a burst of shots as Asante’s head falls to his chest. He dies with his eyes wide
