The Europeans were reckless, brutal, and unfair to the African american people of Africa. They used them to the breaking point until some one them dies of exhaustion. The people of Europe thought it was right for them to do that to them, they said it was showing them how to be civilized but really they just wanted to use them for free labor and drain their land of its resources. The real question is what was the motivation for the Europeans to to colonize Africa. The reason for them to do that was materials, wealth and power.

When the Indians were making all the food for the British and they get the crumbs from all the food that they make. Anyone can tell that the British were using them for slavery and there land resources. Just from document D they were exporting cotton, rubber,ivory,copper, and other resourceful natural resources. They imported way less profit than they did export. This is why they didn’t help the Africans once so ever.
When taking over Africa the British were a lot more greedy than all of the other countries, even though the french got about the same amount of land the British took more resources from Africa. This is supported in document A. Then with the white man's burden it is very one sided. It focused on making the Europeans look like the good in the situation saying that are civilizing the African Americans when really they were using all of these resources for themselves. “And when your goal is nearest” when saying this in Document F it is trying to make this look like it is the goal for the Africans when really it is there real plan.
Although we might not have full evidence that this was the main idea for the British but it is the most probable cause that would have happened. This all the evidence shown is the main reasons for the Europeans to imperialize Africa. To gain power, wealth , and rare resources that were very hard to get or even possible to get in
