Stereotypes leads to self-image issues among African Americans. Self- image issues is causing people to kill themselves because they feel as though the aren’t good enough for others and they are always getting talked about (McGill ). It causes them to gain weight about feel more low because it makes them go through a depression stage in life. Most of it causes them to have low self esteem and they feel like they are ugly then eventually they want to kill themselves. They give white men more chance then they do black males and the police officers if more aggressive with the black male then they are with any other race (Thomson). Black males makes up 65.6 % of the people in jail which is more then half the people in there behind bars (Bobo, Thomson).Black men are minorities in prisons in the US. Police men is always targeting the black males because of the stereotype others having giving them. They are know for killing, stealing, and beating each other. They even sometimes do black on black crime so in the police mind they are thinking if they killing each other then why cant we kill them to (Bobo). Us as people feel as though the black men are getting treated unfairly because they white men are doing most of the stuff the black males are doing but always get less of a punishment then what they would have gave a black male for doing it. Just like when the white men killed everybody in the church but he just got away with a life sentence but if a black male would have done it they would have gave him the death penalty or shot him right there on the
