African American people have been through a lot and it shows throughout past. I don’t think a majority of the 21st century African Americans believe that we need a reparations or restitution for our beloved ancestors and I don’t think that most of them that this situation has been introduced many times. We study our history every year we especially learn it from our books. Generation after Generation after Generation will know their past too. The many years of free labor that was giving, because of the disgusting maltreatment from crossing the ocean to living in cotton fields in this ridiculous journey because of the color our skin and because of greed for money and power. As African Americans we are descendants of slaves and non-slaves. The pain and the struggle and the misery we been throughout slavery and racial segregation in United States should be recognized even more besides celebrating one Black History month out of the year. As black people theirs a lack of respect as much of the equality that we have, we will be lower than the white folks and it shows in our history and present. Also we are not respected in the media and even justice is not served when it comes to our African American brothers and sisters. Especially in the Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, Sandra Bland cases and many more completely no justice. In the news last week, where a white male raped a student and he is sentenced six months but if it was a black man he would probably receive five years or even more. “Two hundred fifty years of slavery. Ninety years of Jim Crow, sixty years of separate but equal. Thirty-five years of racist housing policy. Until we reckon with our compounding moral debts, America will never be whole.” (COATES) Reparations should also be giving to the Native Americans and give back their land. Plus to give it to the others minorities that they mistreated like the Mexicans, Chinese for the concentration camps and etc. At the end of the day it’s about power and until the black people don’t get to the same level of power like the white people, we will not be the
