I am a proud African American today. My skin Is a little lighter than hers was because of the mixture of races I am. But I do go by Just black, African American because my mother and father are both African American. I also thank my grandmother for all the thick black long hair that she gave to me. I could’ve gotten green eyes, but that was ok, I ended up with brown. My heritage meant a lot to me and I inherited a lot from the past seventeen years that I’ve discovered. I learned and heard, that people say I talk just like my grandmother and that it crept the people in my family out that I did indeed talk like her. I found out that we didn’t like some foods and that we shared the same quality of living, in a similar way. She was an OCD, neat freak just as I was and I was happy to know that because me and my grandmother would’ve gotten along very well. I’m also happy that my grandmother’s mother took her hard earned money and made her a better
