We have to realize that cultural tendencies impact the way children participate in education. The influence of culture on beliefs about education, the value of education, and participation also play a part in how our students perform. I have turned on my television countless times and have seen young black men arrested from crimes and all I can do is shake my head and wonder what has happened to my race. I wanted to explore this topic to see if there are any solutions to getting black males connected to their education. I am big on education and I know that everyone is not college material, but others should at least learn a trade and be productive citizens. One problem that I see is that a lot of males are not getting their basic education and this is due to a lot of factors in their lives.
