What is the affordable care act? The affordable care act is broken up into two parts patient protection and the affordable care act. This act is supposed to widen coverage, control cost, and improve the health system. How has ACA changed healthcare in the US? The ACA has changed greatly over time. Most people didn’t have insurance it wasn’t affordable. Business could offer insurance to their employees for a reasonable amount. The coverage has changed so that health insurance is accepted and not be a certain type to receive health care. The ACA requires everyone to hold some type of insurance or they can be held accountable to pay for fines. I think that the ACA has helped in some ways. I also think it has hurt and affected a lot of people.
