H annelore Bauer’s sister, the thirteen year old Ingeborg “Inge” Bauer, was lugging around a rectangular wooden box with two attached straps, allowing her to carry the box on her back. Long past nightfall, a full moon illuminating the nighttime sky was enough lighting for her. With not a single oncoming vehicle in sight, she crossed an empty countryside road in the Midwest, towards a ditch.
