Imagine having glowing parts at night in your body. Having the ability to glow in the dark would be fun. There are many things in the world that glow in the dark. For example, glow sticks, lightning, fireworks, mushrooms, bacteria, algae and many more. The Aequorea Victoria Jellyfish is a jelly that glows in the dark. I am more than interested to learn how luminescence works and its processes. The Aequorea Victoria Jellyfish is a jellyfish found in the Puget Sound, Washington State. The Victoria jellyfish can also be reoffered to as the Crystal Jelly. The glowing green florescent protein, was first discovered in the jellyfish, Aequorea victoria in 1962. Thanks to this protein it has helped in the contemporary bioscience and it’s now a very important tool in the world. …show more content…
Researchers now have the advantage to tell them apart by taking the number of tentacles and size into consideration. Researches have to gather up DNA samples to lead to success. By conducing DNA, scientists are often able to tell them apart really well. The Aequorea Victoria Jellyfish has strong tentacles and a large contractile mouth. There are about more than 150 tentacles in different sizes. The Victoria jellyfish is able to catch its prey with its very sticky tentacles in no time.
