Advice that I would give to any freshman would be, do your work pay attention and don't skip. Those are my three biggest pieces of advice that I feel any freshman should know. If I knew how much I could have benefitted from this sooner I would have, so here I am telling you, don't skip, pay attention to your teachers and do your work! When you skip, you miss a lot, compared to the Jr. High, your grades go down so easy but to get them up is like walking with 500 pounds on your shoulders. It’s just not worth it. No matter how much you don't feel like going to that class. Classes can get hard sometimes but it is just worth the struggle. So go to class, get your assignments done. Respect your teachers and your teachers will respect …show more content…
Stop procrastinating, some teachers give more work than others and it's best to just use your time wisely and get it done and keep up with the class. I used to procrastinate really bad and my grades were bad, but then I just said, might as well get it over with while I have time to. If you are I'm high school you're old enough to know how to simply get organized and how to get things done quickly.
If i wouldn't have gained these skills within the past year i probably would have not done so good and i would have had failing grades. So my best advice to and freshman would be to respect teachers, do your work and so your homework and be in class when you're supposed to be. Trust me, it will help.
If you're looking for what to expect here it is. You should expect to be confused, especially on your first few days, you should also be prepared to be basically pushed around the school like babies, and expect a lot of work. When I walked into 9th grade, I didn't know what to expect, so I got prepared for anything, it helps if you have friends in the high school to kind of help you around. I know i had my boyfriend to help me navigate the first few days and believe it or not you learn how to get around quick. I thought i’d never memorize my teachers or my way around and you pick up on it fast, so don't be to worried about that. Other than that you can expect to be called lower-classmen and freshy, get over it, it happens to all of us. Also, you

The leading stereotype of high school dropouts is that they are either pregnant, or dumb, but that is not always the case. Students often drop out of high school because they don't feel competent, or the have to work to support their families. Many students feel as if they don't have the ability to pass their classes. My school principal, Dr. Weatherly, always says “Say you can, or say you can’t, you will always be correct , so when a student doesn’t think she/he can pass, she/he doesn’t try, which ultimately leads to failure.…

The most important thing that I learned from my UNI class is that I do not have it all figured out. Most people, including myself, believe they have everything figured out in the world. However, that normally ends up in a terrible wakeup call when I think I know something but in reality I don’t. I was that freshmen that thought he knew it all and had it all figured out before he came. I was rudely awakened when I first got here though.…
